Just wanted to let everyone know that it was a part in the distributor that let go on Saturday night, dropping us down in the points. It does not matter if you have brand new parts, things are going to break. It has been a up and down season so far, but we are a team that never gives up and are always charging to the front. We have are sites set on the Firecracker 150 in two weeks which we have had a lot of good luck in. And of course this will be a good test for us for the O'Leary 150 on Speed Weekend which we are already planning for. Here are a couple of pictures of us at the Oromocto Canada Parade.   SEE PICS

In the Martin’s Home Sportsman division Glyn Nott in his #12 ride did his fellow military comrades proud with a victory in the 30 lap feature. Nott made his way to the front starting deep in the field. Off one of the final restarts Nott took the high line to get by Ken Mackenzie of Moncton. Mackenzie said after the race he “could see that black car coming again!”                                                                    Race Results

FROM GLYN:
I would like to send a special thanks to Mitch and the boys at A Plus Auto Glass for dropping everything and cutting us a new windshield today. Also I would like to thank fellow racer Derrick MacKay (Bubba) for fixing our rear end housing in such short notice. Glyn

We brought the car home and checked things out and found that we had a broken transmission and shock. Racing luck was on our side this weekend. Look forward to seeing everyone at the track this week.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are ready to get the 2010 racing season under way. We practiced on Monday and everything went well. We checked the car over and did some changes and now we are geared up and ready to go. The last news we have is our newest sponsor Budweiser is on board with us this year and "PH" Kirk Whynot is back on the pit crew for this season. It's great to have him back and we all know how much work goes into these cars and the more hands the merrier.

The disappointment of last year is but a distant memory now, and all eyes are fixed on the 2010 season and the coveted Championship trophy that has eluded the Nott Racing team for several years now.
A new power plant sits at the ready, under the hood, and a fast start on May 29th is the main agenda of the whole team’s focus.

All information, photos, and videos from 2009 have now joined 2008, in the “Archives” section of the web site

GLYN NOTT JR.

Glyn Nott Jr. from Burton N.B. is a 42-year-old mechanic that has been driving racecars for fourteen years. Glyn’s talent comes naturally as his father Glyn Sr. has worked on racecars for close to forty years in Ontario and New Brunswick. Glyn Sr. has worked on all different forms of racecars including Thunder Cars, Challenger Cars, Sportsman, Late Models, and Modifieds, as well as Cascars, the top Stockcar series in Canada.
The first two years Glyn raced at local dirt tracks then moved to N.B.I.S in 1995 in the street stock division. In 1998 he won “Most Popular Driver” and the team won “Best Appearing Car” and “1998 Points Championship”.
In 1999 the team owners (Dad & Mom) decided to move up to the more competitive Sportsman Division. In their first year, Glyn won “Rookie of the Year” and “Most Popular Driver” and the team won “Crew of the Year”, “Best Appearing Car” and finished 3rd in the Points Championship.
In 2000 the team finished 3rd in points Championship and won "Best Appearing Car" and also Glyn won "Most Popular Driver" for third year in a row.
From 2001-2006 the team has won "Best Appearing Car"5 times in six years and Glyn has been voted as the "Most Popular Driver" 5 times. As well, they have finished in the top 8 of the points championship, in the ever competitive Sportsman division.
In 2007, the team finished 3rd in points and won several major events, including the “Sportsman 150” on speed weekend which is the biggest event of the year at NBIS. Glyn also was voted by the fans as “Driver of the Year” in Atlantic Canada.
The 2008 year was filled with lots of highs and lows with the car performing well at times and struggling at others. After leading the points for most of the season, we slipped at the end, finally finishing second. we captured the “Firecracker 150 and thought we had the O’Leary Pontiac 150 as well but the car failed post race inspection. This was a big disappointment but ....
We did have a successful banquet this year though, winning “Most popular Driver” and “Best Appearing Car”, as well as winning the award of “Most Completed laps”.
Glyn’s goals are set high for the 2009 year and he is hoping to win the “Points Championship”,” Best Appearing Car”, and is going to work hard to regain his fan following and win “Most Popular Driver” again.
In the end, the 2009 season became more of a bust than anything. The season started off well, with Glyn leading the Sportsman points race most of the season. However , Lady Luck raised her ugly head, leading to problem after problem, until finally, Glyn fell back into the pack, leaving his dreams shattered once again.

Glyn speaks about the yellow ribbon on the roof of his car:
“ I have a lot of guys over in Afganistan and we have a ribbon on the top of our car. We race for them each week. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Ninety-five percent of my team are serving or are retired service men. We have a lot of respect for those guys over there.”
