GLYN NOTT JR.

Glyn Nott Jr. from Burton N.B. is a 42-year-old mechanic that has been driving racecars for fourteen years. Glyn’s talent comes naturally as his father Glyn Sr. has worked on racecars for close to forty years in Ontario and New Brunswick. Glyn Sr. has worked on all different forms of racecars including Thunder Cars, Challenger Cars, Sportsman, Late Models, and Modifieds, as well as Cascars, the top Stockcar series in Canada.
The first two years Glyn raced at local dirt tracks then moved to N.B.I.S in 1995 in the street stock division. In 1998 he won “Most Popular Driver” and the team won “Best Appearing Car” and “1998 Points Championship”.
In 1999 the team owners (Dad & Mom) decided to move up to the more competitive Sportsman Division. In their first year, Glyn won “Rookie of the Year” and “Most Popular Driver” and the team won “Crew of the Year”, “Best Appearing Car” and finished 3rd in the Points Championship.
In 2000 the team finished 3rd in points Championship and won "Best Appearing Car" and also Glyn won "Most Popular Driver" for third year in a row.
From 2001-2006 the team has won "Best Appearing Car"5 times in six years and Glyn has been voted as the "Most Popular Driver" 5 times. As well, they have finished in the top 8 of the points championship, in the ever competitive Sportsman division.
In 2007, the team finished 3rd in points and won several major events, including the “Sportsman 150” on speed weekend which is the biggest event of the year at NBIS. Glyn also was voted by the fans as “Driver of the Year” in Atlantic Canada.
The 2008 year was filled with lots of highs and lows with the car performing well at times and struggling at others. After leading the points for most of the season, we slipped at the end, finally finishing second. we captured the “Firecracker 150 and thought we had the O’Leary Pontiac 150 as well but the car failed post race inspection. This was a big disappointment but ....
We did have a successful banquet this year though, winning “Most popular Driver” and “Best Appearing Car”, as well as winning the award of “Most Completed laps”.
Glyn’s goals are set high for the 2009 year and he is hoping to win the “Points Championship”,” Best Appearing Car”, and is going to work hard to regain his fan following and win “Most Popular Driver” again.
In the end, the 2009 season became more of a bust than anything. The season started off well, with Glyn leading the Sportsman points race most of the season. However , Lady Luck raised her ugly head, leading to problem after problem, until finally, Glyn fell back into the pack, leaving his dreams shattered once again.

Glyn speaks about the yellow ribbon on the roof of his car:
“ I have a lot of guys over in Afganistan and we have a ribbon on the top of our car. We race for them each week. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Ninety-five percent of my team are serving or are retired service men. We have a lot of respect for those guys over there.”
